General Information

Potjie Kos Competition: 

Our annual Potjie Kos Competition has been a very successful event in the past, despite low-key marketing, and we have traction with both corprate and individual teams. Professional cooks give their time to judge the event, which is taken very seriously by competitors! Teams are judged on the quality and taste of their food, as well as preparation and presentation. To make it even more exciting, there is a category for the team with the most creative theme. 

Mountain Biking Events: 

This year we will add two mountain biking events: 

1 - A 12-hour ride for competitive athletes and teams. This will be open to all age groups and there will be prize money for the top 3 male and female athletes. It will be hosted on the Shongweni Club grounds in partnership with the Shongweni Mountain Bike Club. A Circuit of approximately 3km has been crafted that also provides for goodspectatorship. Each rider will have 12 hours to complete as many laps as possible and the race will be timed by Elite Timing. The event will also have a category for teams of 4 riders. The teams must be mixed and have at least 1 male or female rider. All 4 riders will have to do a minimum number of laps. There will only be one winning team (prize money per dependent). 

2 - A 4-hour corporate team event. The idea behind the company event is to bring back the popular team cycling competition and team building event. This event will be judged on a variety of factors. The team event will be open for a team of 4 riders. The teams must be mixed and have at least 1 male or female rider. All 4 riders will have to do a minimum number of laps. Companies can have marketing material like banners and gazebos. To make this a fun event the teams will be judged on the following: Best dressed team, best team building initiative, raised the most money for Rhinos & doing the most laps in 4hours.
