    Compulsory Gear:


    All entrants must bring a weather proof running jacket to the race as in the event that conditions are cold and wet these jackets will be made a compulsory item.

    Conservation is a subject close to the heart of Running Man Adventures and as a result we take our environmental footprint very seriously. In light of this Stagger Trail will be a ‘cup free’ event and all runners will be required to carry their own cup or bottle for use on the trail and at the water tables.

    Please ensure that you bring your own cup or bottle to the event.


    Race Entry Information:


    1. Refunds are organised via ROAG. The closing date for refunds is Friday 5th November at 5pm. No refunds processed after that as Apparel, Medals, Race Numbers etc. will have been ordered. The only exception will be if a refund is medically related. If you qualify for a race refund then you will be refunded 80% of the entry fee. Apparel wil be refunded at full price, less 5% ROAG admin fee.

    3. You are NOT allowed to sell your entry to someone else. If you do the entry will be null and void.

    4. Proof of ID will be required at registration.

    5. Entry fees DO NOT include any apparel. Event apparel can be ordered and paid for at time of entry.


    General Race Rules:


    1. All entrants will have a timing chip on their Sani Stagger Race number which must not be covered / pinned through.

    2. The minimum age limits are 16-years for the 21km race and 18-years and older for the 38km race (on the day of the event).

    3. All entrants are to PERSONALLY collect their registration numbers, timing chips at the registration venue (Underberg Country Club)

    4. Registration packs will not be handed over to any third party. Registration packs are for athletes who have come to registration ONLY. Anyone withdrawing from the race and does NOT intend running will NOT receive the registration pack. We remind you that entries are neither refundable NOR transferable.

    5. All entrants participate at their own risk and organisers and sponsors will not be responsible for any loss or injury incurred during or as a result of the race. The organisers and sponsors will not be responsible for any property lost or damaged on the course or in the changing area.

    6. If you need medical assistance, advise the helpers at a water table who will contact race control. All entrants must be medically fit and participate at their own risk.

    7. All medical / paramedic costs are for the entrants own account. The organisers will not pay these nor be responsible for the costs. All entrants will be personally required to sign an indemnity at registration. These may not be signed by a 3rd party.

    8. Refreshment tables will be provided along the route with water and coke (some also food) at approximately 3km intervals. No seconding whatsoever is permitted and you may be disqualified.

    9. This is a World Heritage Site and we ask you to use refuse bins for your used cups etc. Please take care of our beautiful site. DO NOT LITTER. You will be disqualified for littering.

    10. Prize giving subject to Covid Regulations. Details TBC.

    11. Lunches, light snacks and drinks will be on sale at the Premier Resort Sani Pass. You are NOT allowed to bring your own food and drinks into the hotel grounds.

    12. There will be no refund of entry fee nor any other costs should the race have to be cancelled for any reason beyond the organisers control e.g. severe weather conditions.


The Stagger Trail is a one day Trail Run with a choice of two distances: 38km / 21km and will take place on Saturday, 20 November 2021.

Based at the Premier Resort Sani Pass and run in conjunction with the Sani Stagger road marathon and half-marathon, the Stagger Trail traverses a number of the most iconic trails in the surrounding Maloti Drakensberg World Heritage Site.

Both routes are characterised by genuine mountain trail with occasional technical sections and some challenging climbs which make for a truly authentic trail running experience..
