The 50 km or the Trail Perroquet. The start will always be at 5 a.m. on Anse Ally beach, next to the Tekoma Hotel, and the race will run along the famous coves, with the culmination of Anse Bouteille and undoubtedly its no less famous sunrise. Small bump in the direction of Montagne Cabri Est, to visit Trois Soleils and its famous sculpture, Clovers and its wind turbines, Rivière Banane, Brulé, the very natural valley of Vainqueur to find civilization at Palisade and gain height on the highest peak of Rodrigues (Le Mont Limon), Mont Lubin and a descent to the heart capital of Rodrigues: Port Mathurin. The view of this part of the island, with this effect between sky and sea, will be just incredible. Although the best would be to come and see it for yourself! Before arriving on the refreshment point of Port Mathurin (on the harbor), you will still have to cross Crève-Coeur and its hospital, Marie Reine de Rodrigues, why not say a little prayer there and finally the market (not sure that you have time to shop there, though). From Port Mathurin, you will have to climb to the village of Union and its famous monuments – the tomb of Philibert Marragon, one of the first settlers on the island, the slave monument and the Sega tambour monument. In a few strides, you are in the footsteps of the Trail Solitaire à l'Agriculture, Oyster Bay.

The Trail Hibou or the Ultra Tour de Rodrigues is a 73 km course that goes all around Rodrigues along the coast from side to side. The Ultra-trailers will start at 2:30 a.m. (a great first in the world of trail running in Rodrigues) at François Leguat for an arrival at the same place, with a counter-clockwise lap. With a Cut Off Time at 6 p.m., they will have plenty of time to go along Mourouk (1st RP), Pointe Coton (2nd RP), Baladirou (Water point), Port Mathurin (3rd RP), Baie du Nord (4th RP), Pointe Mathourin (5th and last RP), Pointe l'herbe Corail (last water point) and the arrival at François Leguat via Banjelique and its extraordinary view of Crab Island. It is obvious that due to the relief of Rodrigues, it will be necessary to alternate between asphalt and paths. 10 km of tar from the start between Petite Butte and Mourouk, and it's not so bad, because this part is done at night, and 16 km in the north between Baladirou and Baie du Nord, with the sun as your companion. Trailers on this track are strongly advised to equip themselves with proper gear, headlamp and adequate personal refueling items, irrespective of the provisions available at various places.

The Rodrigues Trail: Heading North
The Trail de Rodrigues, like its big brother – Le Grand Raid – brings together several races within it. Thus, making the pleasure of all trailers - regardless of their preferred distance, who find their account (from 7 km to 51 km, via 28 km via 16 km).
For its 13th edition, the TDR intends to get a makeover by moving its four existing races to the north of the island and icing on the cake, adding a 5th race: an Ultra Tour of Rodrigues.
Let's start with the smallest: the family trail or the Trail de la Tortue. From 7 km in previous years, it increases to 6 km to better suit the little ones. The RTA League's Kids Trail is no stranger to the growing popularity of the Turtle Trail. The new departure (at 9 a.m.) will therefore take place on the Montagne Cabri Corail football field to head towards Dans Manuel, Caverne Patate, Cité Patate, Dans Coco and the arrival at the François Leguat Reserve.
As for the short format, the 16 km (Trail du Gecko), it will start (at 8 a.m.) in Baie du Nord (starting point of the Trail Championship) to join La Ferme, Citadel and find the trailers of the Trail Tortue. It is also a specificity of the TDR, that each distance comes to fit on its previous one, to give a common end.
For the intermediate format, the 28 km, the trailers will start (at 7 a.m.) as usual at PhoenixBev, formerly Rodnix Ltd (lifetime sponsor of the Trail league and TDR). From there, they will tread the paths of Fond Baie aux Huitres, commonly called l'Agriculture, Allée Tamarin, Montagne Tonnerre, and the great novelty, the superb valley of Baie Malgache, to go up by Montagne du Sable (one of the big difficulties of the race), Dans Limon, Pointe Diable and find the Trail Gecko. The trailers of the Trail Solitaire will have a breathtaking view of the northern lagoon in front of the Baie Malgache valley, famous for growing vegetables, as well as the northern islands.
In penultimate, we have the 50 km or the Trail Perroquet. From Port Mathurin, you will have to climb to the village of Union and its famous
monuments – the tomb of Philibert Marragon, one of the first settlers on the island, the slave monument and the Sega tambour monument. In a few strides, you are in the footsteps of the Trail Solitaire à l'Agriculture, Oyster Bay.
For the last, and not the least, the Trail Hibou. Indeed, each name given to a race recalls an animal that unfortunately disappeared from Rodrigues – the Solitaire being the most famous but not the only one. This is the “history and culture” part of the TDR and a visit to the museum of the François Leguat Reserve is essential to discover all this. The Trail Hibou or the Ultra Tour de Rodrigues is a 73 km course that goes all around Rodrigues along the coast from side to side. The Ultra-trailers will start at 2:30 a.m. (a great first in the world of trail running in
Rodrigues) at François Leguat for an arrival at the same place, with a counter-clockwise lap. With a Cut Off Time at 6 p.m., they will have plenty of time to go along Mourouk (1st RP), Pointe Coton (2nd RP), Baladirou (Water point), Port Mathurin (3rd RP), Baie du Nord (4th RP), Pointe Mathourin (5th and last RP), Pointe l'herbe Corail (last water point) and
the arrival at François Leguat via Banjelique and its extraordinary view of Crab Island. It is obvious that due to the relief of Rodrigues, it will be necessary to alternate between asphalt and paths. 10 km of tar from the start between Petite Butte and Mourouk, and it's not so bad, because this part is done at night, and 16 km in the north between Baladirou and Baie
du Nord, with the sun as your companion. Trailers on this track are strongly advised to equip themselves with proper gear, headlamp and adequate personal refueling items, irrespective of the provisions available at various places. Know that by tradition, the TDR is always held on the 1st Sunday of November. So, appointment is given for Sunday 6 November 2022 for an
in-depth discovery of the northern part of the island. To use the maritime jargon, dear to Rodrigues – Head north all the way!
