Mtunzini Race In The Shade 2023
The Mtunzini Country Club, the venue for the start of The Mtunzini Race in The Shade, has to be one of the most scenic in the country, with views out to the Indian Ocean over the coastal dune forest of the Umlalazi Nature reserve and the Umlalazi River.
This all helps make the Mtunzini Race in The Shade the perfect weekend getaway for the whole family.
Race options include a 25km intermediate and 55km classic ride. A 10km fun ride will be hosted for the younger riders and runners.
This year the route will take riders over the old arch bridge north of Mtunzini before returning over the 60m floating bridge. Following this early excitement, riders will enter the Zini River estate and ride along the Umlalazi river before heading out south and enjoying the single track network of the Mtunzini forested areas. The 55km participants will go further south to get the legs a proper day out before returning to the finish line at the Mtunzini Country Club.
