The events are sponsored by Cycle Lab and 32 GI:
Cycle Lab gives every entrant a R100 Voucher that is loaded onto the competitor’s ( or parent) cell phone and can be redeeemed at Cycle Lab.
32 Gi proavides race nutrition for each race and a recovery drink after each race. It also provides prizes for the first three competitors in every age category.
The series consists of four races:
3o July – Waterfall College
13 August – Fulton School for the Deaf
27 August – Maritzburg College
17 September – Grace College.
A rider has to complete 3 of four races to be an official competitor in the series.

Competitors accumulate points depending on finishing positions.
The leader in The High School competitions (Boys and Girls) are given a leader jersey for the second event and wear that jersey in the race and at subsequent races if they remain in the lead. At the end of the competition category winners keep the jersey.
We will select a High School provincial team which team will be awarded KZN Schools Cycling Colours and taken to the National final in Gauteng.

2023 MTB SERIES RULES
1. Series Events:
1.1 30 July – Waterfall Schools Hillcrest
1.2 13 August - Fulton School for the Deaf Winston Park
1.3 27 August – Maritzburg College Pietermaritzburg
1.4 17 September – Grace College Hilton
2. Event Cancellation / Postponements:
2.1 The Organiser reserves the right to postpone any of the series events for any
reason. A postponed event may be postponed to a later date at another venue.
2.2 In the event that it becomes necessary to cancel any event due to adverse weather
or for any other reason, no refunds shall be owed by the Organizer to any
Competitor.
3. General
3.1 All events are held subject to School Cycling South Africa event rules.
3.2 Seeding for the first event will be done on the basis of the order of entry to the
event. At subsequent events Competitors will be seeded in the event on the basis
of previous race results.
3.3 Every Competitor that finishes an event shall be awarded points both for the
Competitor personally and for the School the Competitor represents as set out
below:
1st place 15
2nd place 12
3rd place 10
4th place 8
5th place 7
6th place 6
7th place 5
8th place 4
9th place 3
10th place 2
Every Position thereafter 1.
3.4 Competitions three best results will determine the competitors standing in the
overall series competition.
3.5 KZN Schools Cycling colours will be awarded to the top three competitors in every
age group.
3.6 Provided a national final competition is held, High School qualifying competitors
will be invited to represent KZN Schools Cycling at the national final.
3.7 In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Chairman for the time being of KZN
Schools Cycling association shall be final.
4. Prizes
4.1 Prizes are awarded at each event to Competitors placing in the first three positions
of each race.
4.2 Schools accumulating the top three log points in each gender, both High School
and Primary School shall be recognized.
4.3 An award shall be made to the school hosting the best event race track.
5. Participation At Own Risk and Indemnity
Every Competitor participates in the events described in paragraph 1 above at his/her
own risk. Neither the Competitor nor any Competitor’s guardian shall have any claim
against the Organizer, any representative of the Organizer, any School at which any
event takes place, any employee of any School at which an event takes place, any
service provider at any event and on any sponsors of any event for any damages
arising from personal injury or from damage to property, arising from any cause
whatsoever.
6. Registration
Both the competitor and the school that the Competitor represents shall be registered
with SA SCHOOLS CYCLING.
