Age Categories
For the 2020 Light Edition of the Ciel Ferney Trail prizes/rewards will only be given to the first three men and women, or boys and girls of each timed race (13km, 20km, 38km). Prize giving for this will be at approximately 11h00.
Categories of participants and rankings
All participants are grouped into one of the Men and Women age categories as listed in the table below (for result viewing purposes).
The age as at the 31st of December 2020 determines the participant’s category.
In addition to the overall ranking, still so-called men and women “Scratch”, the CIEL Ferney Trail has the following age categories for the following races:

Refund Policy
In case of cancellation of registration by the participant:
Before the 26th of August 2020: A refund of 80% will be made. A request in writing for the same, duly posted (as attested by the postmark), sent
together with a prepaid envelope bearing your name and address should reach the CIEL Ferney Trail Ltd, 5th floor Ebene Skies, Rue de l’Institut, Ebene
in time.As from the 26th of August 2020: no refund for cancellation will be considered for no reason whatsoever (even injuries attested with a medical
certificate or for travelling purposes.)
Any participant who cannot participate in the race will not be able to exchange or resell his/her bib. The organisation team will not be responsible
of any damages sustained by the participant or by any damages that the latter could cause to the other participants. -
Donation
CIEL Ferney Trail is a non-profit event organised annually whereby all profits are redistributed between Inclusion Mauritius – a network of NGOs working for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities – and La Vallée de Ferney Conservation Trust which aims at protecting and preserving the Mauritian biodiversity.

Message from the organisers:
Dear CIEL Ferney Trailers,
It’s been months since we spent whole days wondering if we will be able to organise this 13th edition of the CIEL Ferney Trail. This event so dear to our hearts is a unique moment that we all, the 13 members of the organising committee, look forward to. You might not know it, but to organise such an event, we start working on the first preparations in February: 6-7 months of diligent work by each and every member of the team to offer you a non-profit event that we hope you appreciate, both for the sporting part and for the atmosphere that reigns there.
? Why the Light Edition this year?
Despite the uncertainties and complications related to the COVID-19 health crisis, it was hard to imagine not organising the 2020 edition of the CIEL Ferney Trail! So we decided, for all the trail lovers around us, to go back to basics: trail running, nature and the joy of spending some quality time with family and friends!
? What is changing?
The price – from Rs 200: a very small price so that everyone can participate!
4 new races to discover:
– the Sun Resorts Fun Run 5km
– the C-Care 13km
– Bank One 20km, and finally
– the CIEL 38km.
No race pack, t-shirt or cup this year
No lunch included, but numerous possibilities to eat on site
A bib will be provided to all registered runners. The date of collection of bibs will be communicated later.
Due to the health protocols in force in the country, all spectators will have to wear a mask. Trail runners, on the other hand, will have to wear a mask before and after the race.

PLEASE NOTE: Bib swaps are possible yet they have to done at Race Pack Day (not on the day of the race). There will be a fee of Rs100 for each bib swap.
