CYCLING SA AND CLUB ROAG MEMBERSHIP

Club ROAG offers cyclists a cheap and affordable option to be able to obtain a Cycling SA membership.

There are three different Cycling SA membership or licencing options for riders who want to take part in an officially sanctioned event. It is important to note you have to have one of the three options to take part in ANY Cycling SA sanctioned event. Full details at www.cyclingsa.com/memberships

1. Cycling SA Day Licence: Valid for one day of an event and usually purchased at the event
2. Cycling SA Membership: Valid for one year from date or purchase and purchased via www.cyclingsa.com or via their mobile app
3. Cycling SA Domestic Racing Licence: Valid for a calendar year only and purchased via www.cyclingsa.com or via their mobile app

Club ROAG membership does not include a CyclingSA membership (that has to be purchased via www.cyclingsa.com), but you do need to be a member of a club to purchase a Cycling SA Membership which entitles you to enter CSA sanctioned races. You also need to be a member of a club to purchase a Domestic Racing licence to be eligible for provincial and national selection. Club ROAG is one of the cheapest ways to purchase a club membership in South Africa.

Cycling SA Prices (excluding provincial fees):

1. Day Licence: R50
2. Cycling SA Membership:
   1. Youth (16 & under): R150 + provincial fees
   2. Adult: R250 + provincial fees
3. Domestic Racing Licence: You needs to have valid CyclingSA Membership, so R250 + an additional R500 + provincial fees (junior, U23, elite or masters))

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

Day Licence

1. A Cycling SA member is entitled to enter sanctioned Cycling SA events
2. The licence is only valid for one day for one event
3. Payable on entry to an event, or at the event
4. Limited membership benefits are available
5. It is compulsory to at least have a valid day licence to compete in a Cycling SA sanctioned event

CSA emberships:

1. A CyclingSA member is entitled to enter any event, irrespective of discipline, without having to purchase a day license.
2. A member is allowed to participate in a national series event but will not be eligible for national or provincial selection.
3. Membership of CyclingSA is the most basic form of license and is an agreement of the rider to abide by the rules of the event in which they participate.
4. CyclingSA offers membership benefits including insurance cover and discounts to Training Peaks which can be seen at www.cyclingsa.com/memberships/membership-benefits.
5. Following a recent decision by Cycling SA you now DO need to belong to a club to have a Membership.

Racing Licence:

1. Eligible for provincial and national selection.
2. Eligible to earn UCI points.
3. Eligible to participate in international UCI events (when upgraded to UCI racing licence).
4. Must be affiliated to a recognised club.
