On March 2, 2013, Yan de Maroussem, Mauritian athlete, adept at trail and endurance races, was the leader of a tour of the island. Through 5 sports disciplines, kayaking, cycling, running, rollerblading and skiing offshore, he helped to raise public awareness of a cause dear to GML. Over the years, thanks to the partnership with the Foundation Joseph Lagesse, GML On The Move, now IBL on the Move, have tirelessly aimed to encourage the practice of sport for good health, but especially to focus on the importance of self-giving.
The 13th edition of IBL on the Move, taking place on 12 April 2025, will support Kinouété. 100% of the registration fees from the 2025 event will be donated to this local NGO.
About Kinouété
Kinouété is dedicated to the rehabilitation and social reintegration of detainees, former detainees and juveniles. The NGO offers psychosocial support to those impacted by incarceration, but also family members of detainees and former detainees. Funds raised through IBL on the Move will help support Kinouété’s project of using sports as a rehabilitation and reinsertion tool.
