Rules for Runners
1. Loop Cut-Off Time
Each 6.706 km loop must be completed within 1 hour. Finishing at 59:59 is acceptable; but
any later results in disqualification.
2. Disqualification Criteria
A runner will be disqualified if:
o They fail to complete a loop within the 1-hour time limit.
o They do not appear at the start line when the next loop begins. Skipping loops is not
allowed.
o They choose to abandon the race at any point.
o When only two runners remain, the race continues until one fails to complete a loop
within the hour, does not start the next loop, or quits mid-loop. That runner
becomes The Assist, and the other is declared the winner — provided they complete
their final loop within the time limit.
o If the last remaining runner fails to finish their final loop within one hour, no
winner is declared, and all participants are recorded as DNF (Did Not Finish).
o The Assist plays a crucial role: they essentially set the limit for how far the winner
can go — it becomes a team effort at the final stage.
3. Clearing the Rest Area
Upon disqualification or voluntary withdrawal, runners must vacate their space in the rest
area to allow others to move closer to the start line.
4. Support Crew (Optional but Recommended)
While not mandatory, runners are encouraged to have an assistant — or a team working in
shifts — to help with logistics during recovery periods. Only 1 assistant is allowed per
runner’s space (solo or duo).
5. Assistance Guidelines
o Runners may not receive assistance directly on the start line. They must move away
to access help, out of fairness to those without support.
o No assistance is allowed during the loop. All food, fluids, or gear needed during the
loop must be carried by the runner.
o Assistance is only permitted between loops, after completing a loop and before the
next one starts.
6. Toilet Use
Runners must use the toilets provided at base camp and avoid relieving themselves on the
course.
