Mission Verte
Mission Verte is a Mauritian non-profit promoting recycling and eco-friendly habits through nationwide bins, educational programs, and initiatives like Freedom Plastic. We organize clean-ups, produce educational content, and turn waste into useful products. In 2024, we collected hundreds of tonnes of recyclables, working toward a cleaner, sustainable Mauritius.
About this charity
Nationwide Recycling Network: Operates approximately 50 public recycling sites collecting paper, cardboard, plastics,aluminum cans, and electronic waste.
Education & Awareness: Conducts tailored educational sessions for schools and companies, reaching over 55,000 individuals to date.
Freedom Plastic Lab: Runs a local plastic recycling workshop ("fablab") that transforms single-use plastic waste into useful products while serving as a hands-on teaching tool.
Circular Economy Advocate: Supports the emergence of a circular economy in Mauritius by advising organizations on waste sorting at the source and logistical management.
Environmental Cleanup: Regularly organizes clean-up activities in natural spaces and along beaches to combat pollution and protect biodiversity.

Maintain Collection Logistics: Help fund the operation of our two specialized vans and dedicated team that transport hundreds of tonnes of recyclables annually.
Expand Freedom Plastic: Contribute to the development of our "fablab" to increase the volume of plastic waste diverted from landfills into recycled products.
Agroecology & Composting: Support our new projects focused on community shared gardens and promoting composting as a key to waste reduction.
Educational Outreach: Fund the creation of innovative pedagogical tools, such as mobile "Green Ambassadors" and educational videos, to inspire long-term environmental action.
