Founded in 1970, APEIM is a pioneering Mauritian NGO dedicated to the development, empowerment, and inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The association operates nationwide, offering holistic care through adult workshops, empowerment programs and early intervention services. By fostering autonomy and professional skills, APEIM empowers its beneficiaries to become valuable, active citizens in society.

Early Intervention: A mobile team provides comprehensive care for children (0–6 years) across six regions, including rehabilitation and parent training.
Adult Empowerment: Manages four workshops in Trianon, Port-Louis, Curepipe, and Bonne-Mère that offer vocational training and adapted employment.
Home-Based Care: Provides dedicated support and medical care for individuals with multiple disabilities and bedridden patients across the island.
Multidisciplinary Medical Support: A professional team offers specialized diagnosis, therapeutic services, and paramedical rehabilitation.
