Running for a Reason ❤️

I never thought cancer would become something so close to my life.

Last year, a friend of my mum was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. I watched from the side as she went through an incredibly difficult period — losing her hair, losing weight, and changing physically to the point where she almost became unrecognisable. It was difficult to see someone I knew go through that.

Then, this year, someone in my own family — my cousin, a widow raising two young daughters — was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. It has now been around four months since her diagnosis, and seeing what she and her family are going through has changed the way I look at life.

I'm only 18, and honestly, I used to think cancer was something I mainly saw in movies or heard about from a distance. I never imagined that, within such a short period of time, two people I know would be directly affected by it.

These experiences have reminded me that life is fragile. Today, I may be the one standing here sharing this story. Tomorrow, who knows when it could be you, someone you love, or someone close to you going through the same fight.

That is why I chose to support Breast Cancer Care through this run.

I am not sharing this story to gain fame, attention or anything for myself. And I am not asking anyone to donate because they feel sorry for me, or because they feel forced or obligated to do so.

I simply want to raise awareness, support people going through this fight, and contribute in whatever small way I can towards putting an end to this suffering.
