How to order merchandise
1) Log into the ROAG website (see "Login to ROAG" button at the top of this page) using your five-digit ROAG number (or your email address) and your password (or your ID number).
2) Go to the entry site for the event you have entered at the Sani Stagger:
For both trail runs
For the 42.2km
For the 21.1km
3) Select “Merchandise Purchases Only”
4) Click the “CONFIRM RACE” button
5) Choose what merchandise you want to purchase
6) Select the quantity and click “CONFIRM”
7) Click “CONFIRM EXTRA PURCHASES”
8) Click the tickbox for the Indemnity Form and click “Submit”
9) You can enter other events on ROAG or click “Checkout and Pay” and proceed to the payment portal
10) Check your details are correct and you will have to click the tickbox for the Race Indemnity, Rules & Regulations and then choose to either pay via “Credit Card or Instant EFT” or “Bank Transfer”
11) Follow the payment instructions
12) If you opted to pay by Bank Transfer please ensure the proof of payment is sent to [email protected]
13) Your merchandise will be available for collection at race registration

The race takes place along the 21 km gravel road of the Sani Pass, through the magnificent scenic route between the Lesotho Border Post and the Premier Resort Sani Pass. The 21.1km starts at the Lesotho Border Post and is run down to the finish line on the Premier Resort Sani Pass golf course.
Runners are shuttled up to the start in 4x4’s by Major Adventures, a local Sani Pass tour operator. The drive up the pass is approximately 2 hours. It's an adventure on its own and a bucket list item for every South African!
The race route has been measured by an ASA and international registered course measurer taking the shortest route along the course. Please bear in mind that the route is rocky, and uneven in places and you may not be able to take the shortest route.

AGE LIMITS: Please note you will need to be 16 years by/on the day of the race in order to be able to enter.
All 21.1km runners are taken up Sani Pass, to the start at the Lesotho Border Post, in shuttles.
Shuttles are included in the entry fees.
It’s approx a 2-hour drive up the pass, and one of the most scenic passes in South Africa to see!
Upon arriving at the top, runners receive rusks, cookies, tea and coffee before the start.
Runners do not require passports. Runners only require passports if they are staying overnight at the top and they will then need to go through the South African and Lesotho Border passport control.
During the race only ATHLETES and OFFICIALS will be given access via the SA Border Control.
Should you wish to visit Sani Top Chalet you will need to carry your passport and you will need to be processed through South Africa and Lesotho Border Controls. You may be arrested for illegal entry should you cross through the field and fences.
NOTE: No vehicles will be permitted on the route unless authorised to transport runners. Please adhere to this rule so as to avoid disqualification
Sani Stagger takes place in the Maloti Drakensberg World Heritage Site.
We urge all runners to throw their empty cups etc. in the refuse bins provided throughout the route.
This is a very serious matter and littering could cause you to be disqualified from the race.
Temporary Licenses are available and must be paid for at registration. Cost R50.
All entrants are to PERSONALLY collect their registration numbers, timing chips and final instructions on Friday, 19 November at Sani Pass Premier Resort where regsitration will be held. Proof of ID will be required. There is no registration on Saturday morning before the race.
Refunds are organised via ROAG. The closing date for refunds is Friday 5th November at 5pm. No refunds processed after that as Apparel, Medals, Race Numbers etc. will have been ordered. The only exception will be if a refund is medically related. If you qualify for a race refund then you will be refunded 80% of the entry fee. Apparel will be refunded at full price, less 5% ROAG admin fee.

You are NOT allowed to sell your entry to someone else. If you do the entry will be null and void.
Proof of ID will be required at registration.
Entry fees DO NOT include any apparel. Event apparel can be ordered and paid for at time of entry.
All entrants will have a timing chip on their Sani Stagger Race number which must not be covered / pinned through.
The minimum age limit is 16-years for the 21.1km race
All entrants are to PERSONALLY collect their registration numbers, timing chips at the registration venue (Underberg Country Club)..
Registration packs will not be handed over to any third party. Registration packs are for athletes who have come to registration ONLY. Anyone withdrawing from the race and does NOT intend running will NOT receive the registration pack. We remind you that entries are neither refundable NOR transferable.
All entrants participate at their own risk and organisers and sponsors will not be responsible for any loss or injury incurred during or as a result of the race. The organisers and sponsors will not be responsible for any property lost or damaged on the course or in the changing area.
If you need medical assistance, advise the helpers at a water table who will contact race control. All entrants must be medically fit and participate at their own risk.
All medical / paramedic costs are for the entrants own account. The organisers will not pay these nor be responsible for the costs. All entrants will be personally required to sign an indemnity at registration. These may not be signed by a 3rd party.
Refreshment tables will be provided along the route with water and coke (some also food) at approximately 3km intervals. No seconding whatsoever is permitted and you may be disqualified.
This is a World Heritage Site and we ask you to use refuse bins for your used cups etc. Please take care of our beautiful site. DO NOT LITTER. You will be disqualified for littering.

All finishers of the 21.1km Sani Stagger will receive a medal at the end of the race. We will not hand medals to anyone who has not finished in the allocated time.
Lunches, light snacks and drinks will be on sale at the Premier Resort Sani Pass. You are NOT allowed to bring your own food and drinks into the hotel grounds.
There will be no refund of entry fee nor any other costs should the race have to be cancelled for any reason beyond the organisers control e.g. severe weather conditions.
Located on Sani Pass, Sani Stagger Down Run is a 100% downhill half marathon! The course runs from the Lesotho border to South Africa! The run is half the fun! All runners get driven up sani pass in 4x4 vehicles - a South African bucket list item that you’ll get to tick off!
