Dodo Trail 2023
A unique and sensational adventure awaits you in the western heights of the Mauritian wilderness. Since 2011, the Dodo Trail has been an unmissable event for Mauritian and international runners. This race is renowned for its wild trails and its views that will make you forget the effort. Experience an extraordinary trail and discover the island like never before. Our extreme 50km race takes you through 10 different properties and on a quest to conquer 7 epic peaks. The challenge is real: you will have to get your plumage dirty to deserve the beautiful panoramic views. If the 50km is not yet for you, you can choose from one of the other 3 adventure trails that better suits you.

Xtreme 50km
Dodo Trail XTREME 50 km: starting at 5:00 am Le Morne Brabant and finishing at Riverland Sports Club
The Xtreme 50km is a journey reserved only for flying dodos. You will cross the southwestern part of the island, from Le Morne to Tamarin, on the most technical and rustic trails of the island, passing through 10 private estates. You will be in the heart of the native forests and will have to overcome 7 epic summits that will require your utmost determination.

The Squad 50 km is an ultimate adventure, combining team spirit and endurance. This 4-step relay race is the perfect opportunity to discover the arduous Xtreme 50 km with a diverse team with challenges adapted to everyone. Passing on the technical trails through 8 private properties and 5 spectacular peaks, this thrilling event will offer breathtaking views and lasting memories.

Trooper 25km
Dodo Trail TROOPER 25 km: starting at 7:30 am at the Black River Gorges National Park and finishes at the Riverland Sports Club
The Trooper 25km is a great challenge for robust runners. You will start in the heart of Black River Gorges National Park to conquer two peaks whose names alone give goosebumps: the Macchabee Kiosk and the Tamarin Tourelle. Known for its technicality and its extreme vertical profile, this trail is designed only for the most daring of dodos.

Venture 10km
Dodo Trail VENTURE 10 km: Starting at 08:10am at WALINZI, YEMEN MAINGARD and finishes at Riverland Sports Club
The Venture 10km is a serious challenge! Don’t be tamed by its shorter distance. The technical nature of the course and the heat of the western trails will undoubtedly burn your wings. Relatively short but uncommonly hard, your goal is to conquer Tamarin mountain, from which you will be rewarded with spectacular ocean and mountain views.

Here’s a trail for explorers and nature lovers. Discover the savanna-like forest of the west coast through accessible and relatively flat trails.
This is a great challenge for kids, short-distance runners, and anyone willing to discover or re-discover the joy of running in nature.

The participant’s T-shirt can be ordered online up until 31 May 2023. Socks and water bottles will be on sale on Bib Collection Day (Wednesday 12 July at Dias Pier, Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis) and Race Day (Saturday 15 July at the Race Village, Riverland Mauritius).

Transport
The participants parking will be in the surroundings of Riverland Mauritius.
Shuttles to each race starts will be provided to participants as followed:
- Xtreme 50km: Shuttles to Emba Filao as from 03:30 to 04:00.
- Squad 50km runner #1: Shuttles to Emba Filao as from 03:30 to 04:00.
- Squad 50km runner #2: Shuttle to Chamarel Kiosk leaving Riverland Mauritius at 05:30am.
- Squad 50km runner #3: Shuttle to Black River Gorges parking leaving Riverland Mauritius at 06:30am.
- Squad 50km runner #4: Shuttle to Matala leaving Riverland Mauritius at 08:45am.
- Trooper 25km: Shuttles to the Black River Gorges Parking as from 06:00 to 06:45.
- Venture 10km: Shuttles to Walinzi, Yémen Maingard, as from 06:00 to 07:15.
- Rookie 5km: Shuttles to Walinzi, Yémen Mainguard, as from 06:30 to 07:45.
We recommend using your own transport when possible.
Limited parking space are also available at Walinzi, Yémen Mainguard.Repatriation shuttles to Riverland Mauritius will be provided to SQUAD 50km participants and D.N.F participants as follows:
- Shuttle leaving Kiosk Chamarel at 09:30am.
- Shuttle leaving Black River Gorges Parking at 12:00am and 02:00pm.

Insurance
All participants may take out insurance cover for MUR25,000 for injury requiring hospital treatment. All extra charges shall be their sole responsibility. This option carries an additional fee of MUR300 per person.
